新聞電子化 アメリカ

本日は、「全米電子新聞プログラム」のご紹介です。

「全米電子新聞プログラム」は、その名の通り、全米の新聞を電子化しようとする試みであり、「米国議会図書館（LC）と全米人文科学基金（NEH）とが協同で実施している*1」ものです。


「全米電子新聞プログラム」で公開されている新聞のリストは、こちらで見ることができます。

例えば、1879年の「The sun」という新聞の1面として、

ちなみに、このプロジェクトでは、保存用画像フォーマットとしてTIFFを使用し、閲覧用画像フォーマットとしてJPEG2000を採用しています。
